Role and Responsibilities

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that purchasing procedures are followed with regards to the purchase of materials, equipment, plant and machinery
  • Due diligence on appropriate suppliers
  • Administer site requisitions and purchase orders
  • Sourcing suitable and compliant materials as per contract requirements
  • Negotiate materials and plant prices with suppliers
  • Place orders with suppliers at regular intervals and ensure the prompt delivery of these orders.
  • Liaising with site management on material and plant requirements.
  • Liaising with Accounts Dept on invoice queries
  • Work with quantity surveyors for estimating and pricing new works

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

Necessary skills and requirements:

  • Previous purchasing experience in the Construction Industry (3 years+)
  • Experience with procurement systems (preferably SAGE)
  • Ability to work in a team or on own initiative
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks at a high level of quality
  • Ability to work well under pressure and within a strict deadline environment
