Suir Engineering are continuing to grow across the Data Centre, HV Energy & Renewable and Pharma sectors and for this reason we are looking to hire Quantity Surveyors of all levels (Junior/Intermediate and Senior) to come join our Commercial Team. Suir Engineering is part of the EDF Group with offices in Ireland, Denmark, Sweden, and Germany. We deliver leading edge next generation solutions to clients by designing, building, and installing Data Centres, Pharma and Medical Device plants and Renewable Energy Systems.

Role and Responsibilities

We are keen to hear from Quantity Surveyors with Electrical , Mechanical & Civil experience.

The positions we have available are as follows:

Senior Electrical QS – Pharmaceutical Project – Castletroy Co. Limerick
Senior Electrical QS – Data Centres – Blanchardstown & Baldonnell Co. Dublin
Electrical QS – Semiconductor project – Leixlip Co. Kildare
Mechanical QS – Semiconductor project – Leixlip Co. Kildare
Senior CSA QS or Electrical QS – HV Energy and Renewable Projects Midlands of Ireland
Junior/Intermediate CSA QS or Electrical QS – HV Energy and Renewable Projects Midlands of Ireland

Overall Role Objective

The Quantity Surveyor will take commercial responsibility and ownership for the project, working closely with the Commercial & Project Manager and the construction team to ensure a successful project is delivered, while maintaining relationships and maximising commercial returns and managing risk.

What you will be doing?

  • Management and ownership of the commercial and contractual requirements through the life cycle of the project
  • Responsibility for interface Client Commercial/Contract Team
  • Project Procurement including Sub-contractors
  • Conduct cost and risk analysis
  • Review all incoming correspondence from Employers, Design Team and /or subcontractors, to identify contractually critical items and to initiate replies
  • Manage commercial aspects of subcontractors
  • Provide project costing, margin & cashflow reports
  • Manage project change order procedures and agree costs with client
  • Provide monthly valuations and certs
  • Agree final accounts

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

Suitable Candidates must have a 3rd level qualification in Construction Economics / Quantity Surveying and 1+ years experience working as a quantity surveyor

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Previous experience working in the electrical field
  • Ability to prioritise workload according to deadlines together with a high attention to detail
  • Ability to influence colleagues at all levels
  • Enjoy working as part of a high performing team
