Project Manager

Company Overview

OTL Construction is a civils and construction company based in Donegal. Our main clients are ESB Networks and ESB International and our work zone covers Donegal, Leitrim, Sligo and Mayo.

Role and Responsibilities

The successful candidate will:

  • Work collaboratively to manage the project(s) from inception to completion;
  • Manage project scope, schedules, budgets, resources and quality;
  • Design management and manage temporary works/ formwork;
  • Manage procurement, review and analysis;
  • Provide project progress reports and keep records such as project cost reporting, weekly cost-revenue reports, two-
  • Week look-ahead reports, plant and labour returns, daily activities, materials received, inspections performed,
  • Weather conditions, visitors, instructions received etc. as required by the client / employer;
  • Be the client liaison/ main point of contact;
  • Process change orders;
  • Collaborate with the designer and construction crew to ensure feasibility of each project;
  • Conduct meetings on-site with designer, client and construction crew;
  • Negotiate with, supervise and manage vendors, suppliers and subcontractors;
  • Prepare and submit project estimates to clients;
  • In collaboration with our Health & Safety Consultant, promote and ensure high standards of Health, Safety and
  • Quality on projects as per the company policies and procedures and in line with legislation;
  • Produce as-built drawings / sketches as/when required;
  • Facilitate compiling the Safety File;
  • Attend / request training appropriate to the role;

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

  • A relevant Degree in Civil Engineering / Construction Management or related field of study;
  • Minimum 10 years experience in similar role in civils projects;
  • Knowledge of working in live electric substation environments and the health and safety risks associated with this type of work;
  • Been ESB assessed to Level E standard (desirable but not compulsory);
  • Excellent communication skills;
  • The ability to read blueprints, structural drawings and plan sets;
  • Advanced understanding of risk management policies and procedures;
  • Extensive experiencing managing large construction projects;
  • Strong knowledge of civils / construction materials, processes and equipment;

Other Information

Projects are primarily located in NW Ireland but location can be flexible.
It is anticipated that the PM will be available locally during the working week and attend site as required for the project/ role.

Remuneration package is negotiable in line with market rates and experience.
