Role and Responsibilities
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Completing periodic inspection and testing of the electrical installations site wide, including carrying out on-going preventive maintenance and remedial repair works to ensure compliance
- The areas are predominantly hazardous (ATEX) rated areas so a high level of attention to safety is required
- The scope includes:
– Continuity testing of the protective conductors and main supplementary equipotential bonding
– Resistance of protective conductor
– Insulation resistance
– Polarity
– Fault loop impedance (testing/calculation)
– Verification of operation of RCD’s (including tripping times)
– Floor conductance
– Lightning protection
– Ground earths
– Interpreting technical drawings and diagrams
– Management of the RAMS and forward communication with area supervisors
– A strong awareness of health and safety and good housekeeping is essential as well as attention to detail

Qualifications & Experience Required:
- Minimum Level 6 of the QQI Certificate in Electrical Craft Practice or equivalent
- Have completed the Electrical Verification & Certification course with a Qualified Certifier (QC) number
- Demonstrable a high level of technical knowledge with practical application
- A high degree of computer literacy
- A current CompEx certificate would be advantageous
